Sea Temperature: 17

Kessingland looked perfect for Northerly but arrived to find a tiny parking area, sea about 200 yards away and wind about a mile away. Darren arrived and we set of for Lowestoft confident wind would be cross-shore. Arrived to find plenty of parking , sea 50 yards away and still no wind.
Determined to get some sailing in we set off for Gorleston and updated Ian on itinerary so he caught us there. Finally, good parking, lovely sandy beach, grass to rig on, gentle rollers but still no effing wind. Rigged 7m and had a few runs but in the end admitted defeat, packed up (even a tap to rinse gear with), bought some chips and stepped back 40 years to hear a brass band on the beach green playing Frank Sinatra, Vera Lynn and Procul Harem. (whiter Shade of Pale for fans). Ace place if any wind. Wind was 1*, but chips, wind and brass band worth another *.
